1. What PrimeCompare Is

PrimeCompare is an independent comparison and information platform focused on the South African financial services market. We research, compare, and review personal loans, business funding, and related financial products to help South African consumers make informed decisions.

We are not a lender. We do not issue credit, make lending decisions, or have access to your application data. When you click through to a lender from our site, you are applying directly with that lender under their terms and conditions.

2. Affiliate Commission Disclosure

PrimeCompare earns revenue through referral commissions. When a user clicks through from our site to a lender's website and submits an application, we may receive a fee from that lender. This is standard practice for comparison platforms.

Important:

• This commission comes from the lender — not from you. It does not increase the cost of your loan.
• Not all lenders pay the same commission rate. However, our editorial rankings and recommendations are based on product quality, not commission levels.
• We do not take payment to include a lender on our platform or to rank them higher.
• Some lenders we review may not have affiliate agreements with us — we include them if they are relevant to our users.

3. Editorial Independence

Our commercial relationships do not influence our editorial content. The same assessment criteria are applied to every lender we feature:

• NCR registration status and NCA compliance
• Loan amounts, terms, and interest rates
• Fee transparency (initiation fee, service fee, total cost of credit)
• Application process and payout speed
• Customer service and complaint handling

If a lender fails our standards, they are not included regardless of commercial arrangements.

4. NCA and NCR Compliance Statement

All lenders featured on PrimeCompare are registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and operate under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (NCA). The NCA governs all consumer credit agreements in South Africa and provides important protections including:

• Capped maximum interest rates and fees
• Mandatory affordability assessments before credit is granted
• Right to a pre-agreement quote before signing
• Right to early settlement without penalty beyond a regulated fee
• Protection against reckless lending

You can verify any lender's NCR registration at ncr.org.za. If you encounter a lender claiming to operate without NCR registration, do not proceed.

The content on PrimeCompare — including comparison tables, reviews, guides, and calculators — is for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial, legal, or credit advice.
